What permissions Venon needs — and what it does not ask for
A security bot asks for access to your server, so you have every right to know exactly what for. The list below is not a marketing claim — it comes from a review of what the bot actually calls in Discord's API.
Venon does not ask for the Administrator permission
The Administrator permission bypasses the role hierarchy and every channel setting — a bot holding it can do anything on the server, whatever you configure. Venon used to ask for it. It no longer does: the scope in the install link is derived from the list of operations the bot really performs.
The permissions the bot uses itself
The ones marked “required” are what the bot needs to answer at all. The rest map to specific modules — if you do not use one, you can take the permission away in the bot role's settings and only that module stops working.

The permissions the bot grants to others
This is the most common question when reading the list: “why does the bot need voice moderation if it never joins a channel?”. Discord only lets you grant or revoke a permission in a channel's settings while the bot holds it itself. The bot does not use them for itself — it hands them to the owners of temporary channels and takes them from everyone during a channel lockdown.

What Venon does not need
Administrator
Bypasses the entire role hierarchy and every channel setting. Venon used to ask for it — it no longer does.
Managing webhooks
The bot flags roles holding this permission as higher risk, but creates no webhooks itself.
Mentioning @everyone
Notifications go out as ordinary messages. The bot needs no way to ping the whole server.
Changing nicknames
Venon does not change members' names.
Managing emoji and stickers
It neither adds nor removes emoji.
